Creation of services
Basically, services are first created in MEWS and synchronized after in customice. The manual creation of a service is only necessary when creating services with sub-services. Please note that hierarchical services have to be configured exclusively in customice - all sub-services have to be created individually in apaleo. Cf. >TODO
Note: Of course, services can also be created manually. To connect such a service with MEWS it is necessary to store the correct External ID from apaleo in customice.
Navigate to the menu item Services and synchronize first all services from MEWS via the green Synchronize button.
If necessary, new services can be added via the + button.
Then fill in at least all mandatory fields as shown in the screenshot below.
Attributes of a service and functionality
You can set the following attributes on a service.
| name | short description of the service, which also appears in the configurator | Multilingual depositable |

The following options exist: - per room - per person - Quantity (stock) - Per person and number - per time unit |

| do not display price | If this flag is set, the price of the service is displayed in the configurator with "on request", internally the price is used as set | |
| not relevant for minimum sales | All booked services affect the revenue limit for rent-free of a room - if a service is to be excluded from this, this flag must be set | |
| VAT | the VAT rate is to be set according to the rate from apaleo | |
| Max AB | Maximum advance bookability of a service | |
| sorting | Sorting the service globally and within a category | this has an effect on the display in the configurator as well as on all lists in the booking manager |
| lead time (in minutes) | Here you can set a special lead time for all activities that are created based on this service. | If not set, the globally defined lead time value applies. |
| hide in configurator if not available | service is not displayed if not bookable by a rule | if not set a service is grayed out in this case |
| deactivate in configurator | Service is not offered in the configurator | and only displayed in all lists in the booking manager if the flag "only active" is not set |
| Consists of multiple objects in Unity3D | internal use for 3D rendering engine integration | no effects |
| Show input field for description |

the description ends up in the function for the respective service |
| Description required for user | the input of the description is obligatory | e.g. if certain information is absolutely required |
| Show input for time |
shows in the configurator the possibility to enter the start time of the service |
the start time ends up in the function for the respective service |
| Time required for user | the entry of the time is mandatory | e.g. to already know the start time for a service to be booked |
| activate in portal | internal Use | no effect |
| Display readonly in the configurator | the service can only be seen in the configurator and may be added via rules | e.g. for a service flat rate that is attached to another service by rule and should not be changed by the guest |
Using the + in the lower part you can add images of the service.
Use the Update button to save and Back to return to the list to create more services. The "Reset" button from PMS resets all attributes to MEWS values, if the attributes exist in apaleo.
Relations of services to rates, other services and room categories
In the corresponding TABs relations of the service to other services can be created. For example, a rate can be added to configure rate-driven pricing. In the tab Services, dependencies to other services can be defined, e.g. the deactivation of a service when selecting another one. The relation to room categories can be configured in the TAB Room Categories - please note that usually the selection of the room category influences the behavior of a service - if it is the other way around, this can be configured here.
Documents at the service
In the future, documents will be stored here, such as PDFs that describe a service in more detail and are additionally linked in the detailed view in the configurator. Currently the TAB is without function.
More detailed information about documents at the service can be found here: https://customice.zendesk.com/hc/de/sections/4420245983249-Dokumente
Pictures
Here you can find all pictures you have stored for the service. You can define the sorting of the images and some display options. Images can be exchanged or added here.

Tags
With the help of tags a service can be tagged. The configurator can be filtered by these tags. This means that services that are tagged with "Wedding", for example, are not displayed when the configurator is filtered for the tag "Business". This makes it possible to further differentiate the offer in the configurator.
